Hello,

I have Outlook 2003 Professional running on Exchange Server 5.5.
have three contact folders for seperate groups.  Recently I was movin
these contact folders around and one of them got "converted" to a
email folder.  The icon for the folder is just a folder as opposed to
contact icon.  It took each contact and put the name, address, phone
and email address into the body of an email inside of this folder.
can't seem to figure out what I did wrong or how to reverse th
process.  Basically, I moved the three folders from them mailbox to th
inbox and then back out to the mailbox folder.

If you can help in any way if would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm a little confused. Isn't your Inbox *in* your mailbox? If so, then what
did you actually do when you moved 3 folders from the mailbox to the inbox?

Are all the contacts in one email message or each contact in its own
message?

Sue -

What happened is the contact folders were at the same level in th
folder structure as the inbox within the mailbox.  Then I moved th
contact folders into the inbox folder and back out again.

Also, each contact converted itself to an individual message.  So ther
were 25 contacts, and now there are 25 emails.

Thanks!

Does each message have a contact attached to it? If not, you might want to
use one of the tools from
http://www.slipstick.com/dev/newdefaultform.htm#convert to try to convert
the MessageClass back to IPM.Contact. Failing that, I'd use Outlook Spy to
see if the contact data was even preserved.

FWIW, I have no idea how you managed to do this, since Outlook won't let you
move, delete, or rename any of its default folders, at least through the UI.

Also note: The newsgroup interface you are using apparently does not quote
earlier messages in the thread, making your latest message so short on
detail that you risk not getting the answer you're looking for. Please take
the time to quote the original message.
