The share option displays Outlook's contacts in the wab interface. It does
not mix the contents of the WAB and Contacts in one file. It doesn't
"put"contacts in there - it just uses the wab as a display container.
I have no idea what you are talking about with the links and importing
brings in addresses except those in the WAB - it's the only address book OE
uses. If you use import (or export from OE - in either case, turn off
sharing first), copy and paste, or drag and drop, copies of the contacts in
the WAB are entered into Outlook's contacts folder. They are not links to
the originals, but actual copies.

I have the exact same issue as Jim here. Am utilising
Outlook when I previously used Express. When i try to
import the contacts all I get are blanks. I have tried
Jim's drag and drop method and the results are exactly as
he says. If you drag the WAB file into the contacts
folder Outlook creates a contact for the WAB file and
cretes a shortcut to link directly to the wAB file.
Still trying other ways to bring my previous contacts
from Express into Outlook since the import function fails
to get any results.

List the precise steps you are using to import, where these Contacts reside,
and your results.
Outlook's import Wizard works just fine for this with standard
configurations.
