I am attempting to import contacts from an excel
spreadsheet to Microsoft Outlook 2002 "Contacts" and
receive a Translation Error message during the file
transfer.  It is called MAPI error 0X80070057?

Can any help?

I have a similar issue.
I am trying to import 1025 contacts.
After the error, only 565 had been imported.
I went back and deleted the first 565, and ran the import again.
Sure enough, the remaining 460 were added successfully.
Seems to be related to size ?
If this helps, or you figure it out, please let me know..

OK,
I found my problem.
Turns out I had a colum that was too long.
The data originally was exported from ACT!
The E-mail address of record 567 was a couple hundred bytes long.
Once I fixed that, it worked without error!
good luck, Phi
