formatting not saved in Contact's notes field

I'm trying to bold certain things in the Contact's notes
field. It works but when I save, close and then reload
the contact the bold isn't there anymore. Some of my
contacts have the bold but a whole bunch don't - very
weird!

Any ideas?

Are you using a custom form? If it sets the Body property, it will remove
any formatting.
