When a user types in a phone number in a new contact, and
then moves to the next field, Outlook is not formatting the
number. For example, if she types: 8005551212 then the
phone number field reads: 8005551212. When anyone else
enters the same phone number and moves the the next field,
it will read: (800) 555-1212. How can I re-enable the
formatting of the phone number fields for this user?

Enter your dialing location correctly.

Can you please be a tad more specific? I just upgraded to
Outlook 2003 on my home machine and have the same
problem. I had this feature in my Outlook 2000 and really
liked it. Thanks, Jeff

This is not an Outlook setting. It is an operating system setting that you
access through Control Panel. If you can't find it, you will need to specify
your operating system for assistance.
