Outlook 2000 contacts not on contact list

using Outlook 2000 and I put a contact in my contact
folder, but then it does not show up in the list (not the
global list but the personal one for contacts) when I hit
the "to:" button.
Is there a restriction to the amount of contacts one may
have?  I cannot be close to that as I only have 280
contacts.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be most appreciated.

thanks
Leopold

No such restriction. Provide enough information to allow us to troubleshoot.
Include your mail support mode, how your Outlook Address Book is configured
and how many Contact Folders you have in your profile.

I am not sure what you mean by mail support mode...
But we are using Exchange 2000 server.  My outlook address
book is configured with the default settings and I only
have one contact folder in my profile.
Let me know if you need some more detailed info

Thanks for helping out

Then most likely you are not displaying the correct Contacts Folder in the
address book interface.
