I have Outlook 2000, and in my contacts I have three
branches for all my contacts...personal, busines and
suppliers, I have nothing in the base branch of my
contact list....whenver I send, reply, forward a message
and click on contacts, it shows me as empty, how can I
get Outlook to choose from my three branches

I assume you mean Contacts subfolders?
Have you enabled them as email address books? (R click > Properties)
