upgrade outlook to 2003 major problem

i upgraded my outlook 2000 to outlook 2003 and now all my
contacts are gone. and i had somewhere like 200 people on
the contact list. is it gone for ever or are they just
hidden?

please help

i am also getting an error that says this when i click on
To:

CAN'T CONTACT LDAP DIRECTORY SERVER (81)

where is this server?  i work from home i don't have an
exchange server, so what is it looking for?

You must have migrated from IMO mode. That's never a good idea. In place
upgrades from Outlook IMO mode do not work.
You'll need to create a new Outlook profile from scratch and configure it to
use the Outlook Address Book.
