Is there any way, when I'm entering info for a new contact, to also indicate
what distribution list I want that contact to be in?

Using MS Outlook 2003.

Use Categories instead. You can choose categories as you create a Contact
and you can use them as you would a DL. Moreover, they work better and are
more reliable.

This is an interesting idea, Russ. I'm obviously missing something, however.
How do you send an email to everyone in a particular category?

In Contacts: View > By Category
Select a Category Header
