I recently got a virus that wiped out my email addresses
and want to back up or copy my addresses before it
happens again. When I go to my address book, click
on "File" the import/export blocks are greyed out. Do I
need to install something to make this functional? I've
worked with Outlook Express and backed up the address
book with a .wab extention is Outlook the same or a
different animal??

There is no address book in Outlook. That's why there is no option to back
it up. All information is stored in the Contacts Folder in your Outlook Data
File (PST file). That is the folder you should be backing up. Take a look at

I had my notebook stolen and lost all contracts but then reasized it could
be recovered from Plaxo off site.
