I would like to be able to search for phone numbers in Contacts (Outlook
2003)  I have tried advanced search without success. Using the search pane to
find phone numbers in Contacts

From the Outlook's contact screen click on Find --> Options --> Advance
Find:

Type in the search string (or phone number) in the Search for the
word(s) field.  Select "frequently-used text fields" in the "In:" field.
Then click the Find Now Button.

By the way, can someone tell me how to make the "frequently-used text
fields" become the default, since that's the main field to be searched.  I
have never seen need to search any of the other options.  This would save a
click, and help users who are trying to search their contacts that doesn't
fully understand this search option.
