In rebuilding my computer with XP Professional I went
from Office 2002 to Office 2003.  I just copied my backup
Outlook.pst file into my current Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook path.
Everything seemed to be OK but now when I try to create
an Email or Open the Address list, I'm getting a message:
"The Address list could not be displayed.  The Contacts
folder associated with this address list could not be
opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not
have permissions"

I can see all my contacts using the Contacts folder.  So
what did I do wrong or how can I correct this to get the
Address List to see my contacts.

Thanks,

Overwriting a PST file is the worst possible way to migrate data. If you're
lucky, only your Outlook address Book has been corrupted. If so, follow the
instructions here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287563&Product=ol2003

More likely you've corrupted your profile beyond repair. If so, create a new
one. Next time make sure you use a supported method for migrating your
Outlook Data:
