Contact file name on computer

My harddrive crashed.  I want to save my contacts from
Outlook.  Does anyone know where they are stored or what
extension is used for Contacts?  (I can't run Outlook to
export  but I have all my files saved on an extra drvie)

Once I find it what is the easiest way to "import" it into
Outlook on my new laptop?

The file you need to migrate is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's
where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
