I need to synchronize with my smartphone and it needs to have straight
numbers in the phone number 1234567890 and not (123) 456-7890.  No matter
what I have tried, I cannot get Outlook to not add this formatting.  Has
anyone dealt with this issue?

It's not an option. Masking of phone numbers is hard coded in Outlook and
based on the Dialing location.

Try Beyond Contacts from Dataviz as your conduit between Outlook and your
smartphone.  There's an option somewhere in the sync to also sync the built
in address list, which you want to do for the smartphone.
