Outlook does not use a PAB any longer.
Tell us why you think your Address Book is empty. List the steps you are
using to invoke it and what happens.

If I open an email message from MS Outlook, it inserts
the contact's email address in the TO line. If I want to
add another contact's email address to the TO, CC, or BCC
lines, I get the following message when I click on the
line: "The address list could not be displayed. The
contacts folder associated with this address list could
not be opened. It may have been moved or deleted, or you
do not have permissions. For information about how to..."
and it refers me to Outlook help, which isn't helping.
What do you think? Lou

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book. If it is not listed, back up one step
and add it. If it is, then click on Change. to make sure the Contacts
folder(s) you want to display are listed. You may need to enable the
Contacts Folder as an e-mail address book by R clicking the Folder >
Properties and check the "Show this folder as an E-mail address book" box.
Make sure you restart Outlook after making these changes.

It's there under Email Accounts. I read in help where I
should R click the Folder Properties and check the "Show
this folder as an E-mail address book" box, but I
couldn't find the folder to R click on...

Is this another question or is it working now?

Outlook 2002
Russ,
I have the same problem having moved to another PC.
I followed your instructions to Lou.
However, for me in Tools > Email Accounts > View or change existing
directories or address books
and then Outlook Address Book (MAPI) > Change ... I get no items in the list
(I removed the ones that didn't work earlier).
Additional info: when I moved the Outlook.pst file it is now called
Outlook1.pst. Could this be the reason and if so how can I change the
default to Outlook.pst?
I looked in Data File Management but won't let me change it there. (assuming
this is the reason for problem above)
Thanks,
Hiran
