Control/Field default value

I have added a user-defined date field and control to a form in Outlook
2003. However the form always places a default value of "None" in the field
(I have not set a default value). Also whenever I clear the field and move
to another field Outlook immediately places the word "None" back into the
empty field.

How do I stop this behaviour? I find it particularly odd that it's placing a
text value into a date/time field.

Thanks

This is normal behavior that can't be changed. Outlook shows "None" for any
date/time fields for which a value has not yet been set. The actual value
stored, BTW, is #1/1/4501#.

FYI, there is a newsgroup specifically for Outlook forms issues "down the
hall" at microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms or, via web interface, at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public
.outlook.program_forms
