Can't import WAB file into Address Book

I have a new notebook with WinXP.  I'm using Outlook
2000.  I'm trying to transfer contacts from my OLD WinME
desktop that is running Outlook Express 6.  I exported my
Outlook Express files into a WAB file and have copied that
file onto my new notebook.

But, when I open the Address Book on my notebook, and
click on the File menu, the "import" and "export" menu
items are not active.  They're grayed out and non-
functional.

What can I do about this?

You actually have two problems:
1. The Address Book does not exist in Outlook. It is only a view of your
Contacts. That's why you have no Import and Export commands in the Address
Book view. Your Contacts Folder has these options. That is where you should
import.
2. Outlook cannot import a WAB. Only Outlook Express can. You must first
import into OE. From there you can import into your Contacts Folder.
