I tried to export/import .pst file from Outlook 2000 into
Outlook 2003.  I KNOW that I checked "replace
duplicates".  We are having two problems:  1)  Outlook
2003 reflects duplicates.  2) We are not able to set the
default contact file to his old contact list.  The default
contact is blank.  This creates a problem when he is
trying to create a new email, he is not able to pull the
information directly from the outlook contact list since
it defaults to the blank contact.  What is popping up is
blank.  We tried to delete the blank contact, but that
does not work either.  Any suggestions?

Now you see why we recommend not using importing and exporting for
transferring PST files. Just open the other PST file in Outlook 2003 and
copy over what you want. You can then use a third party duplicate checker if
you need to remove duplicates.
