Outlook 2000

I just imported my contacts at home (outlook 2003 via export to csv file)
into
an office computer running Outlook 2000. (Why - bacause Outlook 2000 would
not read Outlok 2003 pst file.)

Even though I set up my default "file as" in Outlook 2000 as Company Name,
LastName - all my imported contacts are now sorted by lastname.

Is there a macro or utility to go through a couple thouasand records and
change the file as to Company, Lastname and have it show up that way in the
detailed views etc.

Imported Contacts will never abide by your File As.... setting. You should
have just created a PST file in the old format.
You can only change the File As... fields for existing Contacts with code:
