I have exported a .pst file from my contact list in
Outlook 2k, to import into Outlook 2003. I have folders
under the Contacts Folder which house my contacts for
different companies. I would like to set up a
distribution list, but when I go to File>New>Distribution
List and get ready to Select Members the SHOW NAMES FROM
THE: drop down list does not show all my separated file
folders of contacts. And, the folders that are listed I
get an error message telling me the address list could
not be found.

I can go into each folder and find all my contacts, and
even send a message to anyone without a problem. I just
can't figure out how to make a Distribution List in MS
Outlook 2003.

Thank you, Jean

You have managed to disconnect these folders from the Outlook Address Book
with all this importing. This is one of many reasons we continually advise
against importing PST files. Next time just open the PST file and copy the
information you need from it, don't import it.
You should be able to repair the Outlook Address Book by removing it from
the profile, restarting Outlook, then re-adding it. Once the OAB appears in
the list, select it and then click Change to make sure the Contacts
folder(s) you want to display are listed.  If any of them aren't listed,
you'll need to enable those Contacts folders as Outlook Address Books by
right clicking the folder, selecting Properties, clicking the Outlook
Address Book tab, and checking the "Show this folder as an E-mail address
book" box.  Make sure you restart Outlook after making these changes.
