When I click "New" to send an e-mail and then "To" to
open my Contacts, the names in the Select Names box are
alphabetical by first name even though they are sorted by
last name in the Contacts.  How can I change them to last
name alphabetically?

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

Thanks. It worked but Outlook became "not responding"
after I exited Outlook and tried to start it again.  I
restarted my computer and when I tried to start Outlook
it a message asked if I wanted to start Outlook in Safe
Mode. I answered Yes and everything seems fine now.
