I hope someone else has seen this.  when I inport and
address book, everything is in the correct field, and
inports correctly, but when you try to send an e-mail and
try to pull the address from the address book, the window
opens to select the address, but it is blank.  I tried to
creat a new contact with the same results.  Any ideas?

You must provide at least some information here.
Outlook has no address book, nor can you even import into the address book
view in Outlook.
What did you really do? What software are you using?

We are using outlook 2003 set up for a POP3 server.  We
exported the contacts out of outlook express into a tab
delaminated exces file.  Then we imported from that same
file into contacts in outlook 2003.  When you open
contacts in outlook everything is there, including e-mail
addresses all in the correct locations etc.  However,
when you click "new" to send an e-mail, then "to" to
select a recipient, there aren't any contacts to select,
just as if none of the contacts had e-mail addresses
listed.

First, make sure the email addresses are valid and resolved in the Contact
Record (i.e., underlined). If they are, make sure the Contacts Folder into
which you imported these Contacts is the one you are displaying in the "Show
Names from:" dropdown in the Outlook Address Book.

So far I have done all that.  I even tried manualy
entering in a new contact (my self) that I knew was
correct, and the contact list still comes back blank when
you try to send an e-mail.

My first guess is that it was a bad install.

Are you sure you are showing the correct Contacts Folder in the Outlook
Address Book? If so, just remove the Outlook Address Book Service, restart
Outlook, add it back and point it to the Contacts Folder you want to
display. More complete instructions here:
