I maintain a mailing list and prepare a newsletter for a local business.
Until recently all newsletter were sent by snail mail.  We are converting
over to sending newsletters by e-mail to subscribers who have internet
access.

I'm maintaining two listings - one in Outlook for the e-mail people, and one
in Filemaker Pro for the snail mail people.  Is there any way to keep
everyone in Outlook and print address labels for the people who don't have
e-mail (which at the moment is quite a few more than half of the
subscribers).  It would sure be nice to only have one list - makes for a lot
of checking and cross checking to make sure I have the right people on the
right list.

Create another contact folder in Outlook for Snail Mail contacts. As they
get e-mail addresses, you can move them to the main Contacts folder.

OR

Have all the contacts in your main Contacts folder and use categories to
distinguish between snail mail and e-mail contacts.

You can further use categories for mailings.

And, I can print mailing labels through Outlook?  Will they have to be
exported someplace to do that?

It is possible to do MailMerges to Word. I don't use this feature much
myself as I use eMailMerge 4Outlook (www.addins4outlook.com) for mail
merging e-mails.

This is the link to an addin that does envelopes from Outlook. I haven't
used it but user comments appear to be good.

You may also be able to print envelopes using what comes with Outlook and
Word. Look under mail merge in Help.Check to see how to start the mail merge
from both Word and Outlook to see which one works best for you. Following
page may also be useful:
