I am having trouble creating a new field in my contacts section

I can add a fiield, but it will not appear in my contacts when I pull it up,

Did you look on the All Fields page?

FYI, there is a newsgroup specifically for Outlook forms issues "down the
hall" at microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms or, via web interface, at
