area code default

For some reason when I do not add an area code to my
phone numbers, it always defaults to (707) when adding a
contact.  how do I erase that default

Outlook always adds your default dialing location.
Apparently you set that to 707.

So how do I eliminate this default in the dailing area.  
I went to tools and did not see anywhere to make that .

This is an operating system setting, not an Outlook setting.
You did not specify your operating system.
Check Control Panel > Phone and modems... for most OS.

Oh my gosh, Russ, you are a dear.
Now if you can tell me the really big trick to go and find all the contacts
(thousands) with the 707 and change them with one strock.....haha
