unable to import contacts

my computer crashed awhile back and had to start over
with new hard drive.  i had my address book from outlook
backed up on a cd.  i can't figure out how to get it into
my current outlook.

anyone???

Since Outlook does not use an address book, please tell us what you backed
up and how.

it was my contacts list that i backed up.  it is on the
cd as a pst. file which i put into a new folder on my hd
and unchecked "read only" in properties.

Then what happens?
If you backed it up correctly, that's all you'd need to do.
There is no reason to import it. Just open it.
