How do I backup Outlook address book

I am told it to be easy to export Outlook address book to a CD and to use
this as a backup by importing it to the same folder, should problems ever
arise
I must be doing this task completely wrong for I am fast giving up.
Any help would be most welcomed

What you need to realize is that Outlook does not use an address book. All
Outlook data is stored in one file. The file you need to back up is your
Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts
etc are stored.
