MS Office Forum / Outlook / Contacts / October 2004HELP! Re-installed Outlook, can't import saved .pst file.
Due to a virus, I had to re-install Windows XP/Home including Outlook 2000. Prior to re-install, I copied all files with Roxio EZ CD/DVD. After re-install, I copied all data files, including Personal Folders .pst to a special file in My Documents thinking that I could import the file into the re-installed Outlook; however, Import doesn't recognize the file. Did you move this file to a hard drive and remove its read only attribute? What happened when you tried the import? How do I configure Outlook to re-use my file? No, I didn't remove the file's read-only attribute. I'll try that. Nothing happened when I tried the import.
