On my contact list all names are displayed correctly - last name, first name.
When addressing an e-mail and I go into my address book, same names show up
as first name, last name which puts them into the wrong alphabetical order.
I've tried reentering those names as new contact but not good.
Any suggestions?

State your Outlook version.
State the sort order you specified for the Outlook Address book.

Outlook 2003
The sort is my problem.  For 'contacts' I am sorting by 'file as -
ascending'.  The contacts are all in the correct alphabetical order.
I can find no sort option for my address book.  So when I click on the book
to the right of my 'send to' line not all of my contacts are in the correct
order.  Sure hope you can help.

I had the same problem and followed the instructions. It did not work
either....UNTIL I closed Outlook and reopened.  Now all is fine.
