Any way to suggest to Microsoft that they allow specific exceptions? It's now
a pain to synchronize my Palm. The message is consistent, but I'm used to
hitting Synch, going away and doing something useful, and coming back to have
it done. Now it stops and waits for me, and if I wait too long, it never
starts up again properly, and in one case I had to reboot to get it to work,
simply because that message was up there too long.

It's been suggested and refused. There are ways to program around it using
Extended MAPI, so you might want to check with the sync software developer
to see if they are going to fix it on their end. If you don't have the most
recent version of the software, get it.

The problem is that the program is ActiveSync and the software developer is
Microsoft. :-)
Oh well, I guess I am out of luck and will need to manage this inconvenience.

Activesync has never caused it to trigger, even back when it was first added
to OL2000 in June 2000. If you don;t have the latest version of AS, get it.
The palm sync software will trigger it and if I recall, a later version of
it uses clickyes to respond to the prompts (instead of using extended mapi
to bypass them).

Maybe there is hope, then. I am using ActiveSync 3.7.1 and OL 2002 SP3. The
device is an iPAQ 2215 PocketPC.
