After upgrading to 2003 some contacts in outlook have been corrupt rather
randomly. The error message is:
"Can't open this item. Could not comple the operation. One or more parameter
values are not valid."
This despite in current view (address cards) the contact is shown properly.

Your subject says you imported these Contacts. Why?
Did you back up your data?
If so, reuse your previous data file, don't import it.

Thank you for the prompt reply.
I am afraid by opening the backup file manually
I get the same problem even in another pc.
By opening the same file in Office XP there is no problem.
I did not import the file. It was converted automatically
when upgraded Office XP to office 2003.
The contacts are wrong randomly.
Thanks again.

Please elaborate on what you mean by "backup file" and how you created it.

Thank again.
By "backup file" meant a copy of the file
\Documents and Settings\...\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
stored just in another foder location on another drive.
Hoping that this is useful.

We're fine so far. But you said you imported this data. Did you?
You should not import this data. Simply reuse it, just the Help files tell
you:
