have the address book on the side like in outlook express, one cl.

Is there a way to anchor the address book so that it is available at all
times? I can't believe that the more expensive program is so unuser friendly.

No.
Outlook and Outlook Express are in no way related.

Use the "Type a Contact to Find" window in the toolbar and you can go
straight to a Contact.  It's right there at the top of your screen.  Type a
first, last or company name and hit Enter.
