Outlook 2000/Win98 - Cannot configure modem

I am trying to run the Symantec Win Fax SE set up wizard.
When I click on "Set up modem" it says "Changed Active
modem" which is strange because I only have one modem -
TDK Ethernet Modem PC card.  The next message is "Modem
not configured for WinFax".  I then run the Winfax
congiguration wizard.  While "Querying the modem", the
whole system crashes with a fatal error.

Can you help me please?

This doesn't sound like an analog fax modem to me. Fax software requires
analog fax modems.
