Setting up Shared Fax Service on SBS 2000

Hello,

I purchased a Fax Modem and while installing I read that
it must be connected to an analog phone line or else
could cause modem failure.  My plan was to to piggy back
off of a dedicated fax line by using a RJ45 line
splitter.  All of our phone lines are digital. So, being
that the phone lines are digital, does this rule out
using this for our shared fax service?   Sorry if this is
a stupid question but this is all new to me and I had a
couple of experienced networking people tell me that I
could do this?

Thanks for your time,

Debbie

Sure does. You'll need to use an analog line.

There are adapters available that will allow you to use an analog modem on a
digital telephone line, here's an example:
