setting up fax and phone

I am looking for the step by step procedure to allow my outlook to make phone
calls and send faxes. i've realised it is not as simple as plugginf the phone
wire into the modem. Where can i find the instructions?

That would depend on which version of Outlook you are using and what fax
software you intend to use. As for phone calls, Outlook just uses the
Windows dialer to place calls so look in the Windows Help files to learn how
to use it. It is not an Outlook function.
