I do not receive sound notification when I receive new mail. I have checked
the sound settings in the control panel and also the setting in Outlook and
they are all configured correctly. If i make changes in the control panel the
sound notification will work once. I have also tried knowledge base article
246643 and this did not help.

One other cause about which I've read: if the root of your HKEY_CURRENT_USER
key contains keys other than "(Default)" or if that key contains a value
(i.e., does not show "(value not set)", then you may not get sound when new
mail comes in.  Delete any keys other than the default and if the default
key has a value, remove the value.
