Hi:
Last week when I tried to open my Outlook 2003, I got the following message
"Unable to open default e-mail folders and outlook could not start because a
data file to send and receiveve mail could not be found" (1). Since I am
connected to Exchange Server I am not using any data files (I am not using
cached exchange mode either). Then I went to CP applet "Mail" to see if
something wrong with the account. When I click Properties of the profile
nothing happened. When I clicked on it one more time and I got the following
message
"An exception occured while trying to run "C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll,
Control_Run.dll "C:\.............\System\MSMAPI\1033\MLCFG32.CPL, @0" (2)
I have created another profile for myself and it's working. However I cant
delete the old profile. Whenever I try deleting it, I receive the above
message (2). How can I manually delete an Outlook profile. (Deletion throuh
Mail applet is not possible).?
Thanks

Delete from the registry. I don't know your version of Windows, but for
Windows XP and 2000, the mail profile is in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles. Locate the bad one and delete it.
