Using word as your default mail editor

I am trying to use word 2000 as my default mail editor in
outlook 2002, however the options is grayed out.  

How do i make Word 2000 my default mail editor.

You can't. In order to use Word as your email editor, you have to have the
same version of Word and Outlook.
