I have just acquired Outlook 2003.  I also have a hosted
sharepoint team services site.  The host uses servers with
Server 2000.  They are waiting for problems to be
resolved.  For now, I can find no information on what
features I can use.  All of the promotional information
refers only to WSS on server 2003.  Microsoft consistently
ignores the fact that most do not acquire every product at
once.  How do I learn about what I can do with my
situation?

Not sure exactly what kind of information you're looking for, but have you
tried TechNet?  For example, the following link takes you to information
about using various client programs with SharePoint Team Services:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/s
ppt/sharepnt/default.asp

I don't know if there's Outlook 2003-specific info there or not, but again,
I don't know what you're looking for.

Why not try it and see what works? :)

The only integration between outlook and WSS is pushing contacts and
calendar information down to Outlook and saving attachments to a site when
sending mail. Site information is also available in the task pane. I don't
have a 2000 STS site to see if you can save attachments to it, from my
recollection, your version doesn't have any calendar or contact sharing.
