Have there been any reported issues of Outlook client not
attaching to a Linux based mail server? I have a client
that is currently using Outlook Express with his Linux
server but wants to move to the full Outlook.  Any
suggestions will be helpful.

Outlook doesn't care what operating system the server is running, when
you're using POP or IMAP.

Thanks Sue!  I'll give it a try and report back.

All the time. I'm trying to help a dial-up mobile user right now connect to
my qpopper-based POP3 server and I'm seeing timeouts (120 seconds) in my
server logs. Very frustrating. It seems to be a frequent problem reported
on the qpopper list.

I'd make his mbox-format spool file available to him by FTP but Outlook
can't import standard mbox files, the same file format that every other
mail client understands (even if it's not native to that client).
