If it's embedded then it's also an attachment but a hidden attachment. See

Dmitry has a Redemption adaptation of Sue's code from outlookcode.com that
does the same thing with Redemption. I had to modify the Redemption code a
little to run correctly but it shows the principles of how to use Redemption
instead of CDO to embed an image in an HTML email.
