Foreign language accents on a laptop

Hello,
Working on a laptop (IBM thinkpad)in a french speaking
country in Africa with a qwerty keybord.

How can I get accents in outlook express mails? Especially
the a accents (aigu and grave) and "accent circonflexe"

In the Help for your version of Windows search for "key sequences" and use
the "inputting characters not on the keyboard" entry to learn how to do that
using the Alt key and the numeric keypad.
