what is MAPI?

hello sir,
  what is MAPI?.is it useful 4 transfer data to and from outlook?i need
some details about MAPI.

I think it is really Mail API, so it is an interface for low level
calls to the functions needed to connect to mail servers, start
transfers, and store the acquired messages in a database.  You should
go to www.slipstick.com, search on MAPI, and start reading all of the
221 items in the results set.  Otherwise, buy a book on programming
with MAPI.
