i have an office 2000 outlook problem, along time ago someone placed an
axtra page to the contacts in outlook. along with all the email, phone
number, adress, and the usuall stuff in there it also has a tab that display
info about a purchase and the date in wich it was purchased. now here is my
problem. someone had the computer upgraded and they installed a fresh copy
of the os and office on a new hardrive. i need to find a way to copy that
extra form page from the contacts on the old hardrive to the new hard drive.
i'm pretty sure it xan be done but i havn't been very successfule at it yet.

i  have try the import export contacts thing and as far as i can tell it
moves the contacts but not this extra page and i;m not sure if the info on
it moved to it either.

any help would be most apreciated thanks.

If you open an existing item, does the contact have the extra page? If you
look on the Help menu, do you see an About This Form command? Is it active
or disabled?

when i open the existing item on the old hardrive it  is there. when i add a
new contact it is there. i don't see an about this form button or command.

no matter what i try on the new hardrive i can seem to find it. i guess if
they would have copied the stuff from the old drive it should be there but
they (for some reason unnknown to me) did a fresh install and i think the
new hard hardrives version of office doesn't even know the page exists. this
is the last of the stuff from the old drive i need to get working on the new
drive. if it wasn't being used for around 4 months before it came to my
attention i would have just xcopied the old drive over and went from there.
but they have installed different programs replaced a recipt printer that
nobody seems to know were the drivers are for it and have about 4 months of
other transactions on it.

What is this item you're opening on the hard drive? Outlook stores its items
in folders, not as files on the hard drive.

I'm sorry for not making this clearer earlier. I'm not really used to asking
for help and I guess I got a little ahead of myself. Maybe this will clear
it up a little more. thanks again for trying to assist me.

Well what we are looking at is basically 2 different computers even though
the hardrives are in the same box. The old hardrive will boot and when I
open outlook and then view the contacts there is an aditional page displayed
along with the normal contacts stuff that has information about when and
what a customer purchased. When I boot to the other hardrive and open
outlook then view the contacts this extra page isn't there.

I'm trying to make it so the extra information I see when viewing the
contacts while booting to the old drive is availible when I boot to the new
drive.  I can see both drives when booting to either drive, so maybe if I
copied the right folder over? I was originally trying to import/export the
information but this has yet  to yeild any usable results.

thanks again.
