difference btw internet mode and workgroup mode

hello sir,
        may i know what is the difference between internet mode and work
group mode?.
when i switched to work group mode then only i can select the option of
voting buttons.to use those voting buttons i again want to switch from
workgroup mode to internet mode.why such switching is needed?

You can set voting buttons programmatically, regardless of the
configuration.

The main difference between IMO and CW mode is the support for different
types of mail accounts. Voting buttons and the lack of support for managing
forms in IMO are more subtle differences. There's no definitive rundown
anywhere that I know of. Outlook developers supporting Outlook 2000 with
their applications need to test in both.
