In the field "To" in a new email, it always starts in the
first folder in the adress book. I want it to start in
the main folder. How can I set it to do that?

Thanks, but that I know.
The problem is that I would like the system to open the main library
first every time.

Assuming you are using Outlook 2003, click Tools -> AddressBook, while
in the main Outlook window (or just CTRL-Alt-Shift).  Near the top are
two dropdown lists.  The right-hand one is labeled "Show names from
the:"  and the dropdown lists the folder in your Outlook configuration.
Choose the folder from the list that you want to see when the Address
book pops up when you click the To: field button.
