Setting custom journal item "Entry Type" property

I have a custom form based on a journal item. I don't seem to be able to
change the entry type to anything other than "Phone call", which is kind of
irrelevant. I want to simply set it to "Document" but nothing I have tried
will actually do this.

Can you make any suggestions?

TIA

Have you tried code in the Item_Open event handler?

You know what Sue, I tried that and it didn't work the first time, so I gave
up on it. Now it works fine and I don't know what I did wrong at first. Just
not enough confidence in what I was doing to challenge my results I guess.

Thanks again

My guess is that your first attempt had a typo. The "Entry Type" is a bit
peculiar, in that it only accepts items that are on the drop-down list.
