This is a known problem; we had it, too. I distributed a batch file
which killed the Outlook/MAPI32 processes.
However, Ken Slovak suggests a cleaner method: apply post-SP4 fixes to
Exchange 5.5 and start Outlook with the /resetfolders switch. I can't
verify that as we don't have Outlook 9 (2000) any more. You'll find
