Hello,

a user of my Outlook-Add-Ins tested some different configurations of
operating system and office version.

So he installed a german office on an english XP Pro.

After that he installed one of my Outlook-Add-In and after clicking
the icon to show the user form, Outlook crashes.

The reason for this behaviour is the missing FM20ENU.DLL.

Now I have 2 questions to this:

1. Is it allowed to distribute this DLL by my setup?

2. Is it recommended to use the latest version of the dll for older
office versions too?

Thanks for any advise!

Peter

Sounds like a Déjà-vu :-) Did we both have that issue already?

The FM20*.dlls belong to Office, you're not allowed to distribute them. (All
distributable files are listed in the redist.txt.) And it's strongly
recommended not to use them in VBA only.

Hello Michael,

thanks for your reply.

It seems that your human information store works better than mine :-)

May be it was in the office-loesung forum? I searched there but I
didn`t found the post.

Thanks for the information about the redist.txt. I found this file on
my computer and in fact no fm*-files are listed.

Peter, that only seems to be so :-)

That must be of course:
And it's strongly recommended to use them in VBA only.
