I have a similar problem. /recycle didn't help. There is an article in KB
that describes how to open multime windows in Outlook 2000, but there no
mention of how to close the second window and prevent it from coming up egain.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know it's bad form to reply to your own posts, but I found a solution to my
problem and I thought I would share it.
Actually, it was too simple. All I had to do is hit the x on the top right
corner of the window I wanted closed and quit outlook. Next time, only one
window started!

Check the properties for the shortcut you're using and add the switch to the
command line there
